Peace ... what do you consider that to be? According to the Scriptures, it is completeness based on God's presence rather than circumstances. If it were only based on circumstances, none of us would ever find peace. We would be in a constant state of turmoil.
Peace is what Jesus Christ represents to everyone. But of course, not everyone finds that peace, not everyone comes to know Christ as their personal saviour, not everyone becomes one of God's chosen.
God's chosen are not one distinct group of people, i.e., the Jews.
Read Ephesians 2:14-15. It says the same thing in many different versions of the Bible, but some are easier to understand. I compared the New King James to The Message and the Good News. This is what the Good News says:
"For Christ himself has brought us peace by making Jews and Gentiles one people. With his own body he broke down the wall that separated them and kept them enemies. He abolished the Jewish Law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people in union with himself, in this way making peace."
Emphasizing differences and division thwarts one's abilities to understand and enjoy the meaning of true peace. Even when the walls are torn or broken down, without wholeness and unity, there is no peace.
God's chosen people are all those who come to Christ and are His followers.
It's the journey ... not the destination. ... The journey ... my eyes were opened and I knew Him and my heart was changed. ... Won't you join me in my travels, meandering here and there, journeying within my mind and beyond, on paths great and small, through this world that was created by and belongs to the Lord God Almighty.
