This morning as I was waiting for a telephone call, I reviewed my new year's resolution:
... to see God's goodness in everything
... to remember God's truths
... and to meditate on those truths daily.
But, also
... to follow through, to be obedient to the Lord
... to always believe in Him
... to trust
To see God's goodness in everything.
God's goodness is not the same as how we humans perceive goodness.
Romans 2:4 says "the goodness of God leads to repentance"
Psalm 52:1 says "the goodness of God endures continually"
Galatians 5: 22-23 says "goodness" is a fruit of the Spirit.... along with love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another." -- Galatians 5: 25-26
James 1: 19-20 says "Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
The fruits of the Spirit produce the righteousness of God ... goodness produces righteousness.
I will have to pursue this more. Read more about God's goodness, which exists in good times
and bad times, smooth sailing and rough winds, health and sickness, rewards and judgements.
It's the journey ... not the destination. ... The journey ... my eyes were opened and I knew Him and my heart was changed. ... Won't you join me in my travels, meandering here and there, journeying within my mind and beyond, on paths great and small, through this world that was created by and belongs to the Lord God Almighty.
