Taking control of our every thought

Thoughts --

Where do they take you?

Is it down back alleyways of despair and discouragement, fear and anger?

Or

Is it through avenues of encouragement and hope, always a brighter tomorrow?

I'm betting on a combination. We want good thoughts, but sometimes in the midst of whatever is going on in our lives, our good thoughts seem to run away and our bad thoughts take over.

God tells us to Trust Him for everything every time, to Thank Him for whatever comes our way, good and bad, so we can become a better person through Him. God says to reject the negative or sinful thoughts and confess them to Him.

By controlling our thoughts this way, negative turns to positive. Our minds are kept on the Lord Jesus, we are abiding in His Presence and He will guide us along the path best for each of us.

I John 1:5b-10 ...
"...God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have no sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Luke 1:79 ...
"To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. To guide our feet into the way of peace."
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
