Jesus is ... beyond the darkness

A closed window
A darkened mind

What is seen
IF
through your eyes
you can not see

How does one
share the beauty
of a flower
or a sunset?

Blindness.
We sit in darkness
complacent
to all around us.
We are led
by others who do not
know the way
To go
yet we follow
and
are lost.

The Holy One
came.
He was and is and is to come
The Light
The Shining Son
Our Savior.

Yet
We remain
enclosed in
wretchedness.
We are
miserable
We are
poor
We are
naked
We are
blind.

We are lost.

The darkness
overwhelms us
We do not
know the way
of escape.

We are
caught,
trapped
in a cage

No amount
of
clawing
or
picking at locks
brings release

Oh,
if only
we say.

If only?

But there is ....

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me I pray see past the darkness and evil that lurks within. Show me the way of escape. Enable me to live for you, with you, in you. In your name I pray. Amen.
