Darkness ... don't get caught up in it

This week's Sunday school lesson, Sexual Purity Matters, uses Scripture verses from Genesis 2: 18-25, Proverbs 5: 1-23 and Romans 13: 11-14, of which Romans was especially intriguing to me. It says: (11) "And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. (12) The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light. (13) Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. (14) But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts."
Verse 11 says to me to not wait. Don't get caught up in the world, doing worldly things. Be about your Father's business, always pay attention to your spiritual life.
The second half of verse 12 has to do with ridding yourself of deeds/works of darkness and putting on the armor of light. The devil/Satan is darkness, Jesus is light.
Ephesians 5: 11 says "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."
I know what many of the deeds of darkness are, and after spending most of Friday updating the cult section on the Window To Christian Ministries Web site: windowtochristianministriesiniowa.com/cults.html , I am more informed.
Unfruitful works/deeds include, but are not limited to:
revelry, drunkenness, licentiousness, lewedness, strife, envy, fornication, foolish talking, coarse jesting, satanic/occult worship, witchcraft, human sacrifice, psychics, fortune tellers, ouiji boards, crystal ball, tarot cards, tea leaf and palm reading, astrology, horoscopes, numerology.
