I'll Fly Away

This past Sunday, Oct. 25, the wonderful song, "I'll Fly Away," was sung in worshipful praise to our loving Father. It seems the older I become and the more years I am acquainted with the Lord Jesus, the more I understand, the more I rejoice in ALL He has to share with me. I am so thankful He and I connected and that I said yes when He knocked on the door of my heart.

The words...
(1) Some glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll .... fly away.
To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll .... fly away.

I'll .... fly away, O glory, I'll .... fly away;
When I die, hallelujah, by and by, I'll .... fly away.

(2) When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll .... fly away.
Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I'll .... fly away.

I'll .... fly away, O glory, I'll .... fly away;
When I die, hallelujah, by and by, I'll .... fly away.

(3) Just a few more weary days and then, I'll .... fly away.
To a land where joys shall never end, I'll .... fly away.

I'll .... fly away, O glory, I'll .... fly away;
When I die, hallelujah, by and by, I'll .... fly away.

The words and the music were published in 1932 by Albert E. Brumley (1905-1977) of Powell, Mo. There is plenty about him on the Internet. I chose this site which presents his biography: www.therestorationmovement.com/brumley.htm

There are many renditions of this song. Here are some I especially like. This first one is by Jars of Clay:

This next one is by Alan Jackson:

Enjoy!
